This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Tim Perkins and John Ridgway have both had to withdraw from the "Changing Face of Comics" panel (was it something I said?), so instead it's just going to be me presenting a version of my Teeside Uni talk on how digital technology has changed the way I work. Lots of pretty pictures and hopefully some insight into my working methods. It's at 12noon in the Alea Cinema Room if you're attending and are interested.
Comic strip artist and writer, illustrator, designer, anything else I can turn my hand to. 2000AD, Sonic the Comic, Digimon, Billy the Cat (Beano) etc.

Thanks for coming. Glad you enjoyed it. I was quite surprised how much I still liked some of the older stuff. The trouble with my black and white stuff on 2000AD is that it was done to a tighter deadline than the earlier stuff and I had to draw stuff I wasn't used to drawing, so shows some serious flaws compared to the stuff I just drew for pleasure, but that's all part of the learning process - but a little too public for comfort!
i have been farting about with drawing some random comics and i was wondering. What way would you recommend drawing a character nodding as in an agreement?
i tried doing motion lines but it doesn't look all too good :/.

Movement is always a tricky one. I personally favour the 'frozen moment' approach. I rarely use speed lines myself, although I know a lot of people that do.
Try tackling this as a mini animation within the strip - two or three small frames from the same viewpoint with the character's head up then bowed then up again. You might even get away with just two panels - head up then bowed. A word balloon to emphasise what's going on would help too - 'alright' or 'yes' coming from the character as their head is bowed?
